RHYTHMIC AND RAW! Dark City Beneath The Beat defines the soundscape of Baltimore city highlighting local club artists, djs, dancers and producers as they are realizing their dreams of globalizing this musical genre.
Inspired by an original Baltimore club music soundtrack, Dark City: Beneath The Beat showcases Baltimore club music as a positive subculture in a city overshadowed by trauma, drugs and violence.
Faced with obstacles, a shortage of creative spaces and monetary resources, local Baltimore club music pioneers take viewers on a musical journey as they breakdown the anatomy and influences of the homegrown sound and dance of Baltimore city.
